Saw this in the purple contest, here it's the Scottish flower emblem, a lovely photo of this flower great lighting, keep up the flower macros despite the midges, I love your other work too as I strolled through your galleries as I passed through, you will definitely get my vote in the contest :)

Thank you Brenda; I too love thistles. It's a shame that most people spray them with herbicides--I would much rather take photos of them.

Thank you David. I still remember all the chiggers that came with this photo. I used the bug spray on my next trip but forgot to look for poison ivy. Oh well, maybe I should just shoot urban scenes.
