Thanks for the comment Julie. These are Black Vultures but the Turkey Vulture is also a resident bird in Texas (some parts--all year, other parts--summer only). This was on top of my home in Texas--we've moved since then.

We have turkey vultures, here on the central coast of California...wow! These look totally different from the birds I took photos of. I wonder what type they are?

Thanks Krys. Agreed. Buzzard is common slang in parts of the US for Vulture and, more than once, I've been told that these are not really Buzzards. When I lived in Texas, "Buzzard" was fairly common. Here in Northern California, I've only heard "Vulture."

Thanks Sandi. I struggled a bit with the lighting, black buzzards on a black roof, and a bright sky behind them. I really do appreciate you taking the time to visit my work.

Hi Mark! I'm back after being away for a while and just thought I'd come and check out what you've been up to! I really love this image! I love the depth of field and that it is in black and white. I find vultures fascinating birds! You have captured them so clearly! Wonderful! V

Gorgeous shot! v.

Thank you Barbara. These two flew right over me and landed on the roof. I hope that's not some bad omen. I appreciate the visit and the vote.
